Marble like Granite is a green building material and suitable for application within the home or business. Marble is a natural stone and has been around for millions of years. For thousands of years now, people have been living in structures constructed of marble, and its beauty is unmistakable.
In older civilizations, like those in Africa, Europe and Asia, many of the residences there, and places of assembly, have been constructed with marble. Architects today continue to design structures with it at the core of their plans.
The use of marble is not limited to a specific room in the home or business. In homes, marble is installed in, foyers, bedroom, living room and kitchen floors, backsplashes, bars, countertops, bathroom floors, walls even exterior sidewalks and pool decks. In commercial applications, marble is utilized in the same manner.
Like other natural stones, marbles hold their own in terms of the variety of color and decorative options. There is a color for everyone.
Many artists and sculptors have chosen marble to create incredible works of art, because of its softness and its grain. Unlike granite, which grains are short and fractures, marble grains tend to be long and flowing. As such, it has its own uniqueness and gentle quality. Even though I have said that the stone is soft, I was only referring to its strength in comparison to granite. Marble has stood the test of time. Marbles are formed from limestone (also called metamorphic rock) and its different colorations are the result of millions of years seepage, movement, heat and pressure.
Marbles come from many countries in the world, like, Pakistan, Brasil, India, Iran, Libya, Ukraine, Italy, Greece, United States, Turkey and China as well as many other places. Marble is available; polished, tumbled, honed, antiqued, flamed as well as others finishes. Before they becomes tiles and slabs for our use, marbles are removed from quarries in huge blocks, somewhere in the area of 8 x 8 x 5.5 feet. They are then moved to factories where they are sliced, like bread, in the form of slabs, while others are further reduced thinner for tile. After they are cut, marble slabs are then moved to another area where sealing and polishing takes place.
If ranges of color are what you are looking for, it is there. If quality and return on investment value are what you are looking for, it is here. There is no man made material that can match marble. So, there is no other explanation necessary.
